From Jubilee
Renewal to Foundation for the Future
- Jubilee Renewal
generated $3.5 million thanks to the generosity of the
people of St. Michael.
- In 2005, a
parish-wide survey was initiated seeking suggestions,
opinions and input regarding the Master Plan
priorities.
-
A feasibility study
was then conducted, which gave us great information
and direction for revising our plans to address the
desires and priorities of the
St. Michael parishioners. With updated
priorities now in place, we are moving forward with
improvements and expansion of our parish campus.
Some of the
enhancements already implemented for our church from
Jubilee Renewal funds include:
-
the HVAC system
-
new roof
-
sound system
-
hymn boards

several of our accessibility issues were addressed with
In May of 2005, the
Foundation for the Future
Building Committee was created, and has been
working closely with Newman Architecture to ensure that
the wishes and main concerns of the people of St.
Michael Parish were heard and incorporated into our new
"plan for all ages." The construction of a
multi-purpose building and the renovations envisioned
will truly offer benefits to each and every member of
the St. Michael family - from our most tenured senior to
our youngest child. The scheduling challenges we
face on a daily basis will be a thing of the past, and
our expanded facility will provide a world of new
opportunities.
Achieving our
Campaign Goal of $3.3 million will allow us to build a
two-story multi-purpose facility with a two-court
gymnasium and bleacher stands, eight new administrative
offices, a reception area and seven meeting rooms.
Having this new space means we can now have a fine arts
area and include a stage in our existing auditorium for
plays, concerts, musical events, seminars, workshops,
etc. We will also be able to successfully complete
our East Entrance accessibility project, which will
consist of a concrete ramp to the narthex.
