CONSIDER BECOMING A CATECHIST

Welcome to our ministry.

St. Michael Religious Education serves the children and families of St. Michael Parish by offering a program securely based on the four pillars of The Catechism of the Catholic Church.

The program enrolls children ages 5 through 13.  We prepare children to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation.  These sacraments are celebrated in a parish setting, inclusive of the children enrolled in our parish school and in the religious education program.

Each year we recruit generous and faith-filled adults to be catechists to our children.  The vocation of a catechist does not require a teaching degree!  All the components of our curriculum are designed and written for both the new and experienced catechist.

We welcome all who wish to share the Catholic faith with children to talk with us about the many ways one can volunteer---as a catechist, a classroom aide, an office volunteer, even as one who helps keep our children safe while on campus by being a hall monitor or traffic assistant.

All the training, no matter what your role, will be provided.
